Instructions for UV DTF

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Preparation:

  • Surface Cleaning: Clean the target surface with a lint-free cloth and either soap and water or a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water to remove any dust, grease, or residue.
  • Decal Preparation: Trim any excess clear film around the design, leaving a small border for easier handling.
  • Pre-squeegee (Optional): For extra adhesion, especially on curved surfaces, consider pre-squeegeeing the design onto the clear film by placing it face down and rubbing the back with a squeegee or card.

2. Application:

  • Positioning: Carefully position the decal onto the prepared surface, starting from one edge and working your way across to avoid bubbles.
  • Smoothing: Use a squeegee or credit card to firmly press down on the design, working from the center outwards to eliminate any air pockets or wrinkles.
  • Adhesion: Ensure the design is securely adhered by applying firm pressure with the squeegee, especially around the edges.

3. Final Steps:

  • Peeling: Slowly peel away the clear carrier sheet, ensuring the design remains firmly attached to the surface. If any part of the design lifts, gently push it back down and re-squeegee before continuing.
  • Curing (Optional): For optimal durability, allow the transfer to cure for a short period (e.g., 24 hours) before using the item.

Important Notes:

  • Permanent: UV DTF transfers are permanent, so once applied, they cannot be repositioned.
  • Hand Wash Only: For items like mugs or glassware, hand washing is recommended to preserve the design and prevent fading from harsh dishwasher detergents.
  • Sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause colors to fade over time.
